The 1980s saw a great deal of change in the audio world, and the most important shift was the digital revolution that brought us the compact disc (CD). The CD was instantly recognized and widely adopted as a relatively cheap and durable medium for music, but discerning listeners were quick to notice that it lacked a certain “something” in playback quality. Stripped of its analog character, the music lost its depth and soul, becoming passionless, so to speak.
For as long as we can recall, music has accompanied us in our daily lives: at work, at home, and when spending quality time among friends. At some point, vinyl records also became part of the experience. While we have always been mindful of playback quality, with analog records also came the awareness of how important it is to keep the physical medium clean.
One day, being the enthusiasts that we are, we realized that we needed something better than manual record cleaning accessories, and this is how we set out to design a professional-grade machine. Work on the prototype began in 2018, and our first two products – driven by our love for pure sound – saw the light of day three years later.
We found Waterfall to be a fitting name.
